The Jordan Pass, Explained

One purchase covers your visa and 40+ attractions — here's exactly when it's worth it

What the Jordan Pass Covers

The Jordan Pass is the single best money-saver for most trips to Jordan. Sold by the Jordan Tourism Board, it waives your 40 JOD tourist visa fee (when you stay at least three nights) and prepays entry to more than 40 attractions — including Petra, the Wadi Rum protected area, Jerash, and the Citadel in Amman.

You buy it online before you fly, receive a PDF with a QR code, and show it at immigration instead of paying for a visa — then again at each site gate instead of buying tickets.

The Three Tiers

The only difference between tiers is how many consecutive days you spend at Petra.

Jordan Wanderer

1 day at Petra

70 JOD

Jordan Explorer

2 days at Petra

75 JOD

Jordan Expert

3 days at Petra

80 JOD

Prices are set by the Jordan Tourism Board and can change — always confirm on the official jordanpass.jo site before purchasing.

The Simple Math

  • Tourist visa on arrival40 JOD
  • Petra 1-day ticket50 JOD
  • Bought separately90 JOD
  • Jordan Wanderer pass70 JOD — saves 20 JOD before you see anything else

Every additional included site — Jerash, the Amman Citadel, Wadi Rum entry, Karak castle — is pure savings on top. The pass only loses if you skip Petra or stay fewer than three nights (the visa waiver would not apply).
